How to Hide WhatsApp Status Online
- Launch WhatsApp on your iPhone or Android device.
- Navigate to the WhatsApp settings page.
Tap Settings – the gear icon – in the bottom right corner of your iPhone.

- Select Privacy from the Account page.
- Select Last. You have been seen to change your online status.
- You have two options for hiding your online or Last Seen status: only My Contacts can see your status or Nobody can see your status.
You can also select My Contacts Except to exclude people from your contacts list from seeing your “Last Seen” status. Then, on iPhone, tap Done, and on Android, tap the check mark in the bottom right corner.
- Depending on your selection, your online or Last Seen status will be visible to only your contacts, no one at all, or the contacts you did not exclude.
If you use WhatsApp frequently, you’ve probably noticed the login status next to the name of some of your contacts.
Though WhatsApp by default makes your online status visible to everyone, you can easily change it.
WhatsApp status online
WhatsApp online status shows users when their contacts were last active on the platform and if they are currently using the app.
When someone is online, it does not necessarily mean they have seen your message; it simply means they are using the app at the time.
Last Seen refers to the person’s most recent use of WhatsApp and does not imply that they have seen your most recent message. The blue check marks beside the message are the only way to tell if someone has seen it.
If you don’t want your WhatsApp contacts to see your Last Seen or online status, you can easily hide it from everyone, make it visible only to your contacts, or exclude specific contacts from seeing it via the app’s settings.
To hide your Last Seen or online status on Whatsapp, follow these simple steps:
- Launch WhatsApp on your phone and navigate to the settings menu.
- Navigate to the account settings and then to the privacy settings.
- Navigate to the Last Seen options.
- Select either My Contacts, My Contacts Except, or Nobody to hide your Last Seen status.
