Voting is the right of every individual eligible to vote in South Africa. You have to ensure that you qualify to vote before you do so. South Africa’s voting procedure is a little flexible in comparison to other jurisdictions.

How Can You Vote in South Africa?

You must register in your voting district before you can vote in national, provincial, or municipal (link is external) elections, including ward by-elections. This is significant for municipal elections because you can only vote in the voting district in which you are registered.
