Who Awards The Scholarship:
The scholarship is awarded by the Cecil Renaud Educational and Charitable Trust, established in 1988. Dr. Léon Cecil Mapleson Renaud, a philanthropist born in Durban and a successful sugar farmer, founded the trust. Dr. Renaud had a strong passion for education and, through philanthropy, sought to assist students in need. In his will, he bequeathed his entire estate to the trust upon his passing in 1993. Since its inception, the trust has awarded 29 scholarships to outstanding South African students, enabling them to pursue higher education in the UK.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the Cecil Renaud Overseas Scholarship, applicants must meet specific criteria. It’s essential to understand these requirements and ensure eligibility before applying. Here are the eligibility criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen and have continuously resided in South Africa for at least five years.
