Vaal University of Technology VUT Online Application Steps
Before commencing your application, make sure to have all your necessary documents ready ( outlined below ), a working email address and other essential information for student loan application where necessary, such as NSFAS Application.
Vaal University of Technology VUT has one online application portal for all applicants. Apply to Vaal University of Technology VUT Residence You will be able to indicate whether you would like student accommodation on your application form. Please note that applying for student housing is part of your application process. Student housing places are limited so Vaal University of Technology VUT has a criterion for allocating these places.

- Application Fee Payment
NB: In the case of applications submitted by mail, payments will be accepted by bank deposit only. Use your ID number as the reference. Postal orders or bank guaranteed cheques must be made out to the Vaal University of Technology. No cash should accompany your application form.

Vaal University of Technology VUT Offline Application
In contrast to using the Vaal University of Technology VUT Online Application Portal, students can opt to apply via hardcopies of the Vaal University of Technology VUT Application Forms. These can be obtained online on the University’s website or by directly visiting the Admissions Office. The following are the costs of the application forms
- Undergraduate applications from South Africa and SADC region: R110
- Undergraduate applications from outside of the SADC region: R120
Vaal University of Technology VUT Admission Requirements
Undergraduate Diploma Study
The minimum requirement for admission to undergraduate diploma study is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi with an achievement rating of 3 (Moderate Achievement, 40-49%) or better in 4 recognized NSC 20-credit subjects.
Bachelor’s Degree Study
To be eligible for admission to degree study, applicants need to meet minimum requirements for eligibility:
- Applicants holding a South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) need to pass a minimum of 4 subjects at a rating of 4 (Adequate Achievement, 50-59%) or better in any four 20-credit NSC subjects.
- Applicants holding a South African Senior Certificate need matriculation endorsement.
- Applicants holding non-South African school-leaving certificates must qualify for a matriculation exemption certificate.

Applications will close on 30 September, except a few programmes: Bachelor of Education in senior phase and FET Teaching, Diploma in Safety Management, Diploma in Labour Law, Policing and the Diploma in Information Technology which will close on 31 August.
