Ekurhuleni West Technical, Vocational, Education and Training College (EWC) is a public institution regulated by the FET Colleges Act no 16 of 2006, as amended. It was established in terms of the Further Education and Training Act, Act No .98 of 1998, declared as such by the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Education (Gauteng Province) in terms of a Provincial Gazette Extraordinary (dated 7 December 2001).

Ekurhuleni West TVET College is situated in the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality in Gauteng Province in South Africa. EWC operates within a broad band and diverse communities and comprises of the following six (6) campuses: Alberton, Boksburg, Germiston, Kathorus, (in Katlehong/ Vosloorus/ Thokoza), Kempton (in Kempton Park) and Tembisa.

The name “Ekurhuleni” originates from the geographical and municipal areas (the Southern Service Delivery Regions [SDR]), namely: Germiston (as regional centre), Alberton, areas of Boksburg, Katlehong, Thokoza, Vosloorus and sections of Freeway Park and the Northern Service Delivery Region [SDR) namely Kempton Park (as regional centre) Tembisa, Edenvale, including Bedfordview and Primrose, in which the College is situated.

How to Apply:

An enquiry form can be filled online to determine specific application processes, however there are NO online applications. Hardcopy applications can be handed in directly at the campus you wish to study at.

The following documents are required and must be included in the post with your application form:

  • An original / a certified copy of the latest school report / Senior Certificate or highest certificate or results.
  • An original / a certified copy of the identity document / affidavit and photograph in case of no/lost identity document / birth certificate.
  • Deposit / necessary fees.
  • Accompanied by money for textbooks, kits, stationery and learning material (where applicable).
  • Preferably accompanied by a parent / guardian if under 18.
  • Proof of residential address and relevant contact details.

How Much Will It Cost?

Please note: A registration fee as well as a deposit is payable upon registration. No cash will be taken at the Campus. A tailor made deposit slip must be obtained from the Campus. It is important that the registration number as provided by the Campus should appear on the deposit slip as reference number. Students will only be registered upon proof of payment.

Proof of payment should be handed in at the Campus.

All payments must be deposited into the bank account of the College at ABSA BANK. The outstanding balance must be paid in full before the commencement of the National examinations.

Residence/Hostel

There are no accommodation facilities for students at EWC’s campuses.
