Navigating Your Online Application at False Bay TVET College

Embarking on the application process at False Bay TVET College is a seamless online experience designed to uphold your privacy and provide you with a straightforward path to furthering your education.

Safeguarding Your Privacy

In alignment with the commencement of the Protection of Personal Information Act on 1 July 2021, the college is dedicated to the utmost protection of your personal details. To proceed, you must give your consent for the college to maintain and handle your personal data. This entails the completion, signing, and uploading of a personal information consent form. For applicants below 18, this form must also bear the signature of a parent or guardian.

Mandatory Placement Screening Test

Before diving into the application, it’s crucial to undertake the Placement Screening Test. This step is a prerequisite, and your application will remain on hold until the test is complete.

Launching Your Application

To initiate your application, simply hit the APPLY NOW button. During the four-step process, you’ll be asked to furnish personal details. An email address is necessary for all official correspondence.

Make sure to state if you’re seeking a bursary. This detail is pivotal as it flags your file for subsequent communication from the Bursary Office.

Uploading Your Documents

As you navigate through the application steps, you’ll be prompted to upload the following:

  • Your ID document, birth certificate (if under 18), or passport (for international applicants).
  • Your latest academic transcripts.
  • Proof of your residential address.
  • The signed personal information consent form.

Upon successful completion of the application steps, you’ll receive confirmation via email and SMS.

Selection and Admission: A Two-Phase Approach

Phase 1: Selection

Applications are reviewed by the College Selection Committee on scheduled dates. They consider the college’s admission criteria and your academic performance.

  • Should you be among the successful candidates, an offer letter will be sent to you, which can be accessed and must be accepted via the Application Portal.
  • Bear in mind, offer letters have a validity of 5 days from the date of issuance.

Phase 2: Admission

Upon acceptance of the offer letter, follow these steps:

  1. You’ll receive an addendum to complete and upload, along with proof of payment or a notice of bursary approval.
  2. If you applied for a bursary, the Campus Administration will guide you to the Bursary Office for the next steps.
  3. After the required documents are reviewed and verified, your admission will be confirmed.
  4. You’ll then receive a notification with your student number and password for the Student Portal, where you can manage your academic, financial, and personal information.

Important Information for Campus Visits

Due to ongoing COVID-related precautions, campus visits are strictly by appointment. The college prefers to engage via phone or email for the safety and convenience of all parties.

Technical Tips for Application Submission

For optimal performance and compatibility, submit your application using browsers like Google Chrome or Firefox. Please refrain from using Internet Explorer as it does not support the online portal functions.

False Bay TVET College Admission Requirements

Before applying to False Bay TVET College, make sure to meet the necessary admission/entry requirements for the preferred course of study or vocation of choice. TVET Colleges in South Africa generally have lower entry requirements in comparison to Universities in South Africa. Below are a list of requirements you must meet for a successful application.

  • Grade 9 Certificate or equivalent qualification for (NCV Courses)
  • Grade 9 Certificate with a 50% pass in Mathematics for ( Engineering NCV Courses)
  • Grade 10 with 50% in Mathematics OR Grade 11 with 40% in Mathematics for (Engineering Nated Courses)
