The BMW M4

The BMW M4 is a high-performance variant of the coupes and convertibles in the BMW 4 Series line that BMW’s motorsport subsidiary, BMW M, designed and has been selling since 2014. The BMW M3 coupé and convertible versions were superseded by the M4 as part of the renumbering that separates the 3 Series coupé and convertible variants into the 4 Series (to further differentiate these from the 3 Series). An improved engine, suspension, exhaust system, brakes, and attempts to reduce weight, such as increased usage of carbon fiber on the car’s roof, are among the enhancements above the base BMW 4 Series.

What Does The BMW M4 Have?

A twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter inline-six engine with two power levels powers the M4.The standard model has 406 pound-feet of torque and 473 horsepower. It is paired with a six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive.The M4 has Active Sound, which uses in-car speakers to live-amplify the sound of the engine inside the passenger compartment. According to BMW, this technology has been employed to reduce road and wind noise while still giving the driver the sporty sound of the M-powered engine. The system has no fake sounds or pre-recorded tracks. The M5 was the first vehicle to use this system (F10).
The M4 is based on the F32 4 Series, however 50% of its parts are different from the 4 Series. The M4’s convertible model, also known as the F82 or F83 M4 internally, was introduced with the coupe version. It is essentially identical to the coupé variant except that it weights heavier due to the metal folding roof. The weight of the convertible ranges from 1,691 kg (3,728 lb) (manual) to 1,750 kg (3,858 lb) (M-DCT). In 20 seconds, the three-piece retractable hardtop may be folded. The weight differential caused by its retractable hardtop is the sole notable distinction between the two. The driver would feel the stiff ride of any convertible automobile because of the extra stiffness. The F83 M4 uses carbon fiber reinforced plastic, just like its hardtop version, to make the vehicle lighter and more rigid.

The M Series Performance Parts

All versions can be fitted with M Performance Parts. These include a wing, side skirts made of carbon fiber, a M Performance Exhaust system, canards, a splitter and diffuser made of carbon fiber, and rear ground effects. One set of design styles, created by numerous factories, was recently released by M Performance. The only G chassis M available with M performance design are the G80 and G82 M3, M4.
