How Much is iPhone 8 in South Africa? – The Best Chances To Buy It

How Much is iPhone 8 in South Africa? – The Best Chances To Buy It

When the iPhone 8 and iPhone X were announced earlier this month, the prices of these phones in South Africa were not revealed. However, with the new iPhones available for pre-order today and shipping to come on September 21, we now know how much those new iPhones cost in the country. You can get either the 256GB or 512GB model at an R6,999 or R8,149 price point, depending on which you choose. If you already have a valid EFT number saved in your mobile phone company’s system and are eligible for upgrade as of tomorrow morning (September 15), then there’s no need to rush to an outlet that sells them at retail prices. Because if you want one of these new phones from Apple, you’ll have to fork out some cash upfront rather than getting it for free as a reward for saving up a certain amount over time. So without further ado, here is how much the iPhone 8 costs in South Africa:

iPhone 8 256GB

The iPhone 8 is priced at a whopping R6,999, making it the most expensive iPhone currently available in South Africa. It will come in both a 256GB and a 512GB storage capacity. The 256GB variant will be available at the beginning, while the 512GB model will only be made available starting the end of October. The iPhone 8’s body is almost identical to that of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, unlike the iPhone X which features a completely new design. This means that it has a 4.7-inch Retina HD display, just like its predecessors. However, the OLED panel has been updated to include support for HDR (High Dynamic Range) visuals and TrueTone technology to better reflect the colours of the images you’re watching. Along with this, the camera on the 8 has been upgraded to include the new Smart HDR feature, which will automatically detect the scene you’re trying to take a photo of and give you the best possible image quality. The iPhone 8’s A11 Bionic chipset is also upgraded to include the Neural Engine, a new technology that is supposed to help with machine-learning tasks and enable the phone to make more sophisticated decisions.

iPhone 8 512GB

The iPhone 8 Plus is priced at a similarly high R8,149, but comes with a higher storage option. The 512GB variant of the iPhone 8 Plus will only be available in South Africa beginning mid-October. The new iPhones have a larger 6.5-inch Retina HD display, just like their smaller counterparts but are now IP67-certified for resistance against dust and water. The IP67 certification means that the iPhone 8 Plus can be submerged in up to 1m of water for 30 minutes without any damage. Like its smaller counterpart, the A11 Bionic chipset is upgraded on the 8 Plus to include the Neural Engine for machine learning tasks and improved graphics. The camera has also been upgraded to include the same Smart HDR feature as seen on the iPhone 8. The battery on the 8 Plus has been increased to 2,915mAh, while the same storage option is also present on the iPhone 8.

iPhone X (64GB)

The iPhone X with 64GB of storage will set you back R41,999 and will be the least expensive iPhone currently available in the country. However, it’s important to note that while the price is listed at R41,999, this is the full retail price that you will have to pay. These phones will only be available to purchase via Utopia, Apple’s own authorised reseller in the country. If you want to buy one of these phones from a third-party retailer, the price will be significantly higher. The iPhone X is Apple’s most expensive phone ever, and it shows. The new phone has a 5.8-inch Super Retina OLED display with a resolution of 2,436 by 1,125 pixels. This makes the phone’s display 5.78 inches larger than the iPhone 8 Plus’ 6.5-inch display. The iPhone X is powered by the new A11 Bionic chipset, which is even more powerful than the A11 chips found in the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. The device also comes with the new Face ID biometric log-in system, which will be able to recognise you even when you’re wearing glasses and hats.

iPhone X (256GB)

The iPhone X with 256GB of storage will set you back a whopping R6,149, but once again, this is the full retail price. Apple will not sell the 256GB variant of the iPhone X via its online store, so you’ll have to get it from an authorised reseller. The iPhone X is a new design for Apple, featuring an all-screen front design with a notch for the camera and sensors. The all-screen design results in a smaller 5.8-inch display compared to other iPhone models. The A11 Bionic chipset has also been upgraded to include the new Neural Engine, which is even more powerful than the one found on the 8 Plus. It also comes with Face ID biometric log-in system, just like the Xs and Xs Max and will work with the same TrueDepth camera system. The battery on the iPhone X has also been improved and has been increased to 2,715mAh.

iPhone Xr (64GB)

The iPhone Xr is an upper mid-range phone that has been designed to target customers who want a ‘premium’ iPhone but don’t want to pay the price for an iPhone X. The Xr comes with a 6.1-inch Super Retin
