What Benefit can someone with Epilepsy get

Adults with epilepsy may be eligible for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI, for individuals who paid taxes into the Social Security system) (SSI, for low-income people). Regular epileptic seizures are required to receive SSI or SSDI benefits.

Are epileptics allowed to drive?

Your doctor will let you know if you need to cease driving if you are switching medications. However, you must cease driving and report any seizures to the appropriate driving authority. 

What type of disability is Epilepsy? 

The SSA will determine you have a “medical disability” if you satisfy the epilepsy eligibility requirements in the listing. If you meet the requirements, the SSA will review your medical history. One of the illnesses in the list of impairments is epilepsy.
