Is Tinder free in South Africa?

Is Tinder free in South Africa?

Tinder is not available in South Africa. The dating app has been banned by the government’s communications regulator SA (Icasa) since 2015. The ban was imposed due to concerns over Tinder’s “reputation for promoting illegal sexual activity”. The app allows users to browse photos and profiles of other people nearby through the app. A list of potential matches is then created based on your location, age and gender preferences.

Users can swipe left or right on their profile to indicate whether they like the person. If two people move around each other, they will be able to chat with each other via text message or voice call before meeting in real life if their shared interests continue after the initial exchange of messages/calls. Tinder has a controversial history in South Africa. In 2015, Icasa banned the app over concerns about its “reputation for promoting illicit sex”.

The ban was lifted in 2016 after Tinder agreed to changes to its privacy and security policies. However, the company has not accepted all the conditions imposed by Icasa and is yet to go public in South Africa in 2018. How do you use tinder? Using Tinder is easy.

Download the app on your smartphone or tablet, log in with your Facebook account (or create an account), select your gender (male/female) and enter your age group, then swipe right. If you like someone or don’t want them to know, let them know. If both parties are interested in continuing the conversation after the initial text/call, the parties can talk via text or voice call before meeting in person.
