About iStudent Academy:
iStudent Academy is a private institution established in 1991 with a commitment to providing training in the latest ICT-related skills. The academy offers a range of part-time, full-time, and online courses in IT, design, CAD (Computer-Aided Design), and business training. It has received accreditation from several esteemed quality assurance bodies in South Africa and abroad. iStudent Academy focuses on providing quality education to students passionate about technology.
iStudent Bursary Competition Program:
iStudent Academy encourages students to pursue qualification courses accredited by SAQA (South African Qualifications Authority) and internationally through its bursary program. In 2022, the academy awarded bursaries worth over R440,000. For 2025-2026, iStudent Academy plans to award 20 bursaries, with each of its five campuses (Durban, Bloemfontein, Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Pietermaritzburg) offering four bursaries.
The bursary will cover the following courses:
- 2-year Graphic Design (Adobe Certified Associate)
- 1-year IT (Microsoft certified in programming or Networking)
- 2-year IT engineering (Microsoft certified programming, Networking, and Cisco Certified Network Associate)
- 2-year Computer-Aided Design and Draughting (Autodesk Certified User)
Bursary Coverage Value:
The iStudent Academy bursary covers only the tuition fees for students pursuing any of the mentioned courses. Students are responsible for managing all other expenses such as travel, accommodation, and food.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the iStudent bursary, students must meet the following criteria:
- Students applying for this bursary must be 30 years or younger.
- Must have completed Matric (Grade 12) or currently be in Matric.
- Applicants must agree to the terms and conditions set by the academy.
- Students must be willing to study full-time toward the qualifications.
- Applicants should attend the iStudent Academy Open Day or Workshop.
- Students must have a good command of English, as all study materials and classes will be in English.
Terms & Conditions Of The Bursary:
Applicants should be aware of the following terms and conditions before applying for the bursary:
- Students must meet the minimum entry criteria.
- Applications must be submitted before the closing date.
- Bursary recipients will be announced on November 26.
- Candidates selected for the bursary must pay the registration fees within 60 days of acceptance and complete the registration process.
- Students who receive the bursary will need to pass an entrance exam to confirm their eligibility for the selected course.
- Bursary recipients must be willing to be photographed and interviewed for promotional material by iStudent Academy.
- The final decision rests with the panel of judges.

Students can apply for the iStudent bursary by downloading and completing the iStudent Academy Bursary Competition Application Form. Along with the application form, students should submit copies of the following documents as specified by the academy:
- Certified ID document
- Latest matriculation results (if currently in Matric)
- Matric certificate
- Parents/guardians’ certified ID proof
- Letter of recommendation
- 3-month bank statement of parents/guardians
- An essay on the topic, “My passion for technology”
