NATED / Report 191 programmes are delivered under the auspices of the Department of Higher Education and Training and quality assured by Umalusi. The programmes consist of 18 months theoretical studies at colleges and 18 months relevant practical application in work places. Engineering studies range from N1 – N6 while Business and Utility Studies range from N4 – N6

MECHANICAutomotive Repair and Maintenance introduces you to the fundamentals of vehicle technology and equips you with the necessary confidence to perform tasks related to, for example, vehicle components, engines, gearboxes, fuel systems, body components and electronics. The tasks are limited to removal, cleaning, servicing (replenishing of fluid) and fitting.

ELECTRICALProvision of a formal qualification that will equip and prepare an individual effectively to pursue an opportunity in the many different work areas of Electricity or Electronics. Examples are domestic installations and maintenance, repairing and maintenance of consumer equipment.

FITTING & TURNINGThis course teaches learners how to operate and monitor drilling machines, milling machines, surface grinding machines and lathes. It also includes welding/joining of metals, heat exchangers and maintenance.

BOILERMAKERThis course teaches different methods of fabrication including the use of triangulation, radial line and parallel line. Other aspects of fabrication that are covered include oxy-acetylene cutting, arc welding, power machine cutting, bending and rolling of steel plates.
