Private Student Accommodation University Of Stellenbosch

Private Student Accommodation University Of Stellenbosch

Stellenbosch University offers an extensive accommodation network, with the capacity to house approximately 6,500 students across 31 campus-managed residences and other housing options on the Stellenbosch main campus. Additionally, the Tygerberg Campus, home to the Faculty of Health Sciences, provides residence for around 1,000 students in its five dedicated buildings. With a student body exceeding 30,000 across both campuses, the majority choose private lodgings in the surrounding areas of Stellenbosch.

Every student living in these university residences benefits from the guidance of a Residential Head, who is supported by a diligent house committee. Integral to student support are the mentors — experienced students appointed within the residences and among Private Student Organizations to help newcomers navigate their new academic and social environment. These mentors are pivotal during the welcoming period, offering guidance on university life and psychosocial support. Additionally, they facilitate the involvement of new students in the University’s comprehensive Wellness programme, promoting year-round student well-being.
