Community Engagement Projects
- Eratosthenes Project:
A project organised with Ntsika High School (Grahamstown) and the ENSTA (Paris), aiming at sizing and weighing the earth.
- Mathematics Olympiads:
The department host every year a competition centre for the South African Tertiary Mathematics
Olympiad (SATMO). The SATMO is a mathematical competition for South African university students.
- Siyanqoba:
In collaboration with the Department of Education, we help running the “Siyanqoba” at Rhodes University. “Siyanqoba” is a notion-wide project, supported by the South African Mathematics Foundation (SAMF), training high-school students for mathematical Olympiad.
