Rosebank College Bursaries and Scholarships 2024-2025
Education is the key to a brighter future, but for many students, financial constraints can dim that light. Recognizing this challenge, Rosebank College, an educational brand of the Independent Institute of Education (The IIE), has taken a proactive step to support its students through the Fundafuture Bursary Project. This initiative aims to provide financial assistance to students who may not qualify for traditional financial aid but still face financial barriers to completing their studies.
The Fundafuture Bursary Project
Fundafuture is a tertiary education crowdfunding platform designed to assist students, particularly those who fall into the gap between being able to afford their studies and not qualifying for grants from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS). Rosebank College identified the financial challenges faced by some of its students and decided to participate in this worthy project.
Lillian Bususu, the National Graduate Development Manager at Rosebank College National Office, explained the institution’s motivation for joining the Fundafuture Bursary Project. She stated, “Rosebank College made a strategic decision to partake in the Fundafuture Bursary Project after realizing that some students were unable to complete their studies due to various financial constraints.”
Supporting Future Graduates
Currently, Rosebank College has 1420 students who are unable to complete their studies due to financial constraints. The beauty of the Fundafuture project is that anyone or any organization can partner with Rosebank College to raise funds for these students. It’s a simple process – visit the Rosebank College page, choose a student to sponsor, and start donating. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, plays a crucial role in securing the future of these young learners.
The Pay-It-Forward Philosophy
Fundafuture operates on a pay-it-forward philosophy. Successful graduates, once they become economically active, can then sponsor other students in the future. This creates a cycle of support that uplifts entire communities. Gift Mazibuko, a beneficiary of the bursary, shared his story. He received a sponsorship of R25,290 from Tractionel Enterprise, which made a significant impact on his education.
Gift’s aunt, Dudu Xulu, who was struggling to pay for his fees due to financial difficulties, expressed her gratitude for the bursary. “The monthly expenses far exceeded my income, and hence I had outstanding debt of R5500 at Rosebank College,” she said. “This bursary is a blessing to all of us, and thank God for giving us this opportunity.”
The Importance of Financial Support
Gift Mazibuko also emphasized the significance of financial assistance for students. “I am very happy about the bursary, as it is a relief for my aunt,” he said. “I am happy and grateful that Rosebank College gave me this opportunity to access this bursary. I intend to work and study hard so that I can get the bursary for next year as well.”
Conclusion
Rosebank College’s participation in the Fundafuture Bursary Project demonstrates its commitment to providing opportunities for all students, regardless of their financial circumstances. By supporting initiatives like Fundafuture, we can ensure that education remains a beacon of hope for students striving to achieve their dreams.
Remember, a small contribution today can make a world of difference in a student’s life and secure a brighter future for our youth. Let’s join hands to empower the leaders of tomorrow through education.
