SASA Perron X Bursary 2025-2026
The South African Sommeliers Association (SASA), in partnership with Perron X Heritage Collection, is offering an exciting bursary opportunity for students interested in pursuing a career in the wine industry. The bursary is specifically for SASA’s Introductory Sommelier Certification program and aims to promote diversity and inclusivity within the South African wine market.
Bursary Details:
- SASA is offering 100 bursaries for the Introductory Sommelier Certification program.
- The bursary covers the expenses associated with the certification examination.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be considered for the bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a genuine passion for wine.
- Must be enthusiastic and committed to a career in the wine industry.
- Must grant consent for SASA and Perron X to publish their names in various media outlets.
- Preference will be given to students with financial needs, and those facing financial challenges will be prioritized.
- Must demonstrate strong academic capabilities.
- Access to the internet is required for participation.

Documents Required:
Applicants must submit the following supporting documents along with their application:
- Letter of recommendation: Obtained from an official at an Establishment mentioned in your experience or from a friend, family member, or community leader. The letter should explain why you should be selected for the bursary.
- Answers to 7 questions: After viewing the videos on the Vin de Classique Youtube channel (provided in the application form), answer the seven questions provided.
Closing Date:
The application deadline for the SASA Perron X Bursary is 30 June 2025-2026. It is recommended to submit your application well before the deadline to ensure proper consideration.
