Sekhukhune fet College council
A message from our chairperson
The vision of SEKFETCOL is “to be a globally attractive and recognized education and training institution”. I believe that we not only achieved this vision, but we also succeeded in growing to be one of the largest FET Colleges in the country – an achievement that is unquestionably remarkable. This can be ascribed to visionary leadership and the dedication of students, staff members and stakeholders. We are proud of the quality of our staff members, and we are also confident that they will continue to add value to the College and the training we provide.
The council continues to appreciate the trust that students place in the quality education and training offered by this College. We will not disappoint our students and our stakeholders, and we will strive to remain the leading College in terms of innovation, curriculum development and first-rate results.
Following the implementation of FET Act 16 of 2006, the College is firmly on course to autonomy, and we are confident that the transformation processes will be completed successfully. There will of course be many new changes for the College Council, and we aim to meet these with fortitude, resourcefulness and determination.
We continually strive to offer training that is relevant and aligned to industry demands and commercial needs. We are constantly in conversation with trade and industry, particularly the mining sector to determine training needs in order for the College to offer the very best to our students. Infrastructure and equipment are continually upgraded to ensure that our students have access to state-of-the-art training facilities. Staff training is a priority, and we aim to keep our staff abreast of the latest developments in their field of work.
We are continually striving towards service excellence and therefore we are proud to announce that our Quality Management System now complies with ISO 9001:2000 requirements after being assessed by Alpha Certification Services.
