The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) plays a crucial role in safeguarding the value of the currency and ensuring the health, sustainability, and growth of the South African economy. It performs various functions, including managing the national payment platform, regulating banking institutions, acting as a government banker, providing liquidity assistance in exceptional cases, and overseeing currency exchange control mechanisms.
The SARB operates with independence and autonomy as outlined in the Constitution. It has the freedom to utilize various monetary policy tools to achieve its objective of monetary policy. However, the government is responsible for setting the monetary policy objective.
SARB Art Scholarship 2025-2026
The SARB is offering the SARB Art Scholarship for the academic year 2025-2026. This fully funded scholarship is intended for fine arts students pursuing studies in the following fields:
- Advanced fine arts diploma (following a three-year undergraduate diploma)
- Master’s in Fine Arts
- Fine Arts honors with a three-year undergraduate degree program
- Final year students of a four-year undergraduate program
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the SARB Art Scholarship, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be a citizen of South Africa
- Plan to study or be enrolled in one of the specified programs at an accredited South African tertiary institution
How to Apply
To apply for the SARB Art Scholarship 2025-2026, applicants need to download and complete the Full Art Scholarship Application Form (PDF). Please note that this form is the sole method of applying for the scholarship.
Documents Required
Applicants must submit clear copies of the following documents in PDF format to SARB-ART@resbank.co.za to apply for the scholarship:
- Completed application form
- 6-8 artworks created in the previous year
- Academic transcripts for the previous year
- Certified copy of your ID
- Artistic statement (up to 300 words) describing your passion for art, why you deserve the scholarship, and why financial assistance is needed
In the email subject line, mention “SARB Art Scholarship 2025-2026” while submitting the documents.
Closing Date
The application deadline for the SARB Art Scholarship 2025-2026 is 27 January 2025-2026. Make sure to submit your application before the closing date.
