How To Check TUT Result 2025-2026
Welcome to the TUT examination site. We provide service to students regarding scheduled examinations. The two major examinations take place in June and November respectively. In addition, we provide information on supplementary and deferred examination. Examinations are held at different campuses and venues across the University.
CHECK RESULTS
Distance Education
Students who have outstanding balances on their student accounts will not get any results.
Distance Education Unit will e-mail the individual results to your
TUT4Life e-mail address.
Students have until 31 January to query their November examination results or to request a re-mark of the examination script. All other due dates for examination enquiries as per attached application forms. No late examination enquiries will be accommodated.
RESULT CODES
FX – Absent from examination
FJ – Supplementary examination granted. This code is used for the main examination and it indicates that a student is allowed to write a supplementary examination during the next examination period.
FZ – Fail subminimum. This code is used to indicate that a subminimum of 40 > as required was not obtained during the main examination and a supplementary examination is granted and will take place during the next examination period.
FR – Fail subminimum in supplementary examination, did not obtain 40 > during the examination, student must re-register the subject the following academic year.
P – Pass
PD – Pass distinction
Take note that no examination or final marks may be obtained telephonically, all results will be published on the TUT Website as from date of publication and updates will be done daily. Results of students with outstanding balances of R100 or more will not be published. Publication of final examination results are as indicated above; please do not enquire before the publication dates.
The fee for examination enquiries for examination results after the closing date is R44 per enquiry.
BANKING DETAILS
Absa bank: Tshwane University of Technology Cheque account number: 040000003. Use reference number F436/AND YOUR STUDENT NUMBER on the deposit slip. Attach your proof of payment to your e-mailed enquiry.
INSIGHT, RE-CHECKING AND RE-MARKING (Please adhere to the closing date above.)
The relevant Insight, Re-checking and Re-marking form should be printed, completed and faxed or e-mailed to Distance Education together with proof of payment of the relevant fees. No late applications will be accommodated.
A turnaround time of fourteen (14) days is applicable. Please do not enquire within fourteen (14) days after the date of your e-mailed or faxed application. Enquiries done before the fourteen (14) days expired will not be attended to.

A COPY OF YOUR ID DOCUMENT SHOULD BE ATTACHED TO ALL E-MAILED AND FAXED ENQUIRIES/REQUESTS/APPLICATIONS. FAILURE TO ATTACH THE ID DOCUMENT COPY WILL RESULT IN YOUR ENQUIRY TO BE DISCARDED WITHOUT ANY NOTICE.
NOTE: Communication from students without a student number shall be discarded.
SUPPLEMENTARY EXAMINATIONS
Supplementary examinations for distance education students will only be written during the next examination period.
