FOR APPLICANTS WHO OBTAINED A SENIOR CERTIFICATE BEFORE 2008:

Admission requirement(s):

An FET/Senior Certificate at NQF Level 4, including two languages, which should include English with at least a D symbol at the Higher Grade or a C symbol at the Standard Grade.

It is recommended that all the other subjects listed as recommended be passed with at least

E symbols at the Higher Grade or D symbols at the Standard Grade.

Recommended subject(s):

Biology, Geography, History, Mathematics, Physical Sciences and Technology.

Selection criteria:

Admission is based on the screening of the application against the minimum requirements and compliance with the subject-specific prerequisites.

FOR APPLICANTS WHO OBTAINED A NATIONAL SENIOR CERTIFICATE IN OR AFTER

2008:

Admission requirement(s):

A National Senior Certificate with a bachelor’s degree endorsement or an equivalent qualifica- tion, with an achievement level of at least 4 for English (home language or first additional language), 3 for one further additional language and 3 for Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy.

Recommended subject(s):

Biology, Business Studies, Computer Applications Technology, Geography, History, Physical Sciences, and any technology-related subjects.

Selection criteria:

To be considered for this qualification, applicants must have an Admission Points Score (APS) of at least 22.

Applicants can only be considered for the programme if the minimum admission require- ments with an achievement rating of 4 or better in four of the six subjects have been met.

Assessment procedures:

No further assessment will be done. Applicants who achieve the minimum APS will be consi- dered until the programme complement is full. The school will rank applicants to determine admission.
