Important Notice for Future Applicants
If you’re considering enrolling in this program for the first time in 2017 or beyond, take note that the Baccalaureus Technologiae program will no longer be available from 2020. It is being replaced by qualifications aligned with the new Higher Education Qualification Sub-Framework. To explore the new qualifications, please visit the university’s website.
Admission Requirements and Selection Criteria
For Applicants with Senior Certificates Before 2008:
- Admission Requirement: Senior Certificate or equivalent with a D symbol at Standard Grade or an E symbol at Higher Grade for English, Mathematics, and Physical Science.
- Recommended Subjects: Biology and Geography.
- Selection Criteria: Applicants who meet the minimum requirements will undergo an academic proficiency test, with the Senior Certificate contributing 80% to the final admission score and the proficiency test 20%.
For Applicants with National Senior Certificates in or after 2008:
- Admission Requirement: National Senior Certificate with a bachelor’s degree or diploma endorsement, or an equivalent qualification, with an achievement level of at least 4 for English, 4 for Mathematics, and 4 for Physical Sciences.
- Recommended Subjects: Geography and Life Sciences.
- Selection Criteria: Applicants must have an Admission Point Score (APS) of at least 21. Selection will be made by a departmental selection panel.
Assessment procedures:
- Applicants with a score of 24 and above will be considered for admission.
- Applicants with a score of 21 to 23 will be invited to take an academic proficiency test, with the APS contributing 80% to the final admission score and the proficiency test 20%.
Program Duration
- Minimum duration: Three and a half years.
- Presentation: Day classes.
