Admission Requirements and Selection Criteria

The admission requirements for this qualification differ depending on when you obtained your senior certificate:

For Applicants Who Obtained a Senior Certificate Before 2008:

  • Admission Requirement: A Senior Certificate or an equivalent qualification, along with admission tests.

For Applicants Who Obtained a National Senior Certificate in or After 2008:

  • Admission Requirement: A National Senior Certificate with a bachelor’s degree or a diploma endorsement, or an equivalent qualification, with an achievement level of at least 3 for English (home language or first additional language).
  • Selection Criteria: To be considered, applicants must have an Admission Point Score (APS) of at least 17. The APS comprises 20% from previous qualifications, 30% from a questionnaire, and 50% from your portfolio.

For Applicants with a National Certificate (Vocational):

  • Admission Requirement: A National Certificate (Vocational) with specific subject requirements.
  • Selection Criteria: To be considered, applicants must have an Admission Point Score (APS) of at least 27.

Curriculum Overview

The National Diploma in Fine Art is a three-year program with a minimum duration of three years. Classes are held during the day, and intake for this qualification occurs in January only.

First Year Curriculum (Total Credits: 1,000):

  • Art Theory I (0.150 credits)
  • Communication I (0.050 credits)
  • Drawing: Fine Art I (0.200 credits)
