Important Notification to New Applicants:
If you’re planning to enroll in this program for the first time in 2017 or later, please note that the Baccalaureus Technologiae will no longer be available after 2020. Instead, new qualifications aligned with the Higher Education Qualification Sub-Framework will take its place. Keep an eye on the university’s website for updates on these new qualifications.
Admission Requirements and Selection Criteria
For Applicants Who Obtained a Senior Certificate Before 2008:
- Admission Requirements: You’ll need a Senior Certificate or an equivalent qualification with a minimum mark of 55% at Standard Grade and 50% at Higher Grade for English.
- Recommended Subjects: Accounting and Business Economics.
- Selection Criteria: Selection is based on academic assessment, TUT potential assessment, and an interview. An M-score is calculated based on your academic performance, and a minimum M-score of 12 points is required.
For Applicants Who Obtained a National Senior Certificate in or After 2008:
- Admission Requirements: A National Senior Certificate with a bachelor’s degree or diploma endorsement or an equivalent qualification with a level 4 achievement for English and level 3 for Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy.
- Recommended Subjects: None.
- Selection Criteria: You must have an Admission Point Score (APS) of at least 24 to be considered for this qualification. An APS of 18 qualifies for the National Diploma (Extended Curriculum).
For Applicants With a National Certificate (Vocational):
- Admission Requirements: A National Certificate (Vocational) with at least 50% for English and Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy, 50% for Life Orientation (excluded for APS calculation), 60% for any three compulsory vocational subjects, and 50% for the fourth subject.
- The certificate must be in fields like management, marketing, hospitality, tourism, office administration, information technology, computer science, finance, economics, or accounting.
- Selection Criteria: You must have an Admission Point Score (APS) of at least 27.
