UKZN Undergraduate Online Registration 2026-2027

UKZN Registration Guide

Registration Process:

Dates:

Self-help/Online Registration: Starts from 8 January and ends on 2 March.

On-Campus Registration: From 29 January to 2 February for students needing academic advice or with negative term decisions.

Accessibility:

The system is available both on the University Computer LANs and off-campus.

No need to queue; registration can be done online.

  1. Checking Registration Time:

During the main registration period, check your allocated registration time in the information package.

The schedule according to allocated times will be strictly adhered to.

Visit UKZN’s website for specific detailed information by college.

Payments:

Cash Payments:

The University no longer accepts large cash payments on campuses.

The maximum cash amount accepted at the cashiers is R500.00.

Alternative Payment Methods:

Online payments or bank payments are recommended at least three days before registration.

Credit or debit card payments can be made via Click-to-Pay on the UKZN website for same-day clearance.

Bank payments should be made a day before registration with proof sent by 4pm for overnight clearance.

Fee Queries and Balance Checks:

Check outstanding fee balances by phoning 031 260 3699 or visiting the UKZN website.

Email proof of payments for clearance to the respective campus email addresses listed in the guide.

Note the clearance times for EFT and payments made at another bank.

Student Cards and Parking Permits:

  1. Student Cards:
    • Automatically activated overnight once registration is complete.
    • Use the 2017 student card until 2 March, after which it must be updated at the ID card office on your campus.
    • Student cards and parking permits are required for access from 3 March (except for residence students).
  2. Parking Permits:

Important Dates:

5 February: Commencement of 1st-semester lectures.

2 March: Final date for registration, fee payment, and curriculum changes.
