Program Rules:
Recommended for students planning to complete the qualification over more than one year to take COC4701, COC4702, RMM4701, and PST4701 in the first year.
Compulsory attendance of contact sessions is required.
Some pre-requisites and/or co-requisites may not apply as they are not part of the curriculum.
Purpose of the Qualification:
The goal is to develop competent conservation managers who can conduct research under supervision and manage natural resource areas scientifically.
Graduates will be skilled in applying research and management knowledge to manage ecosystems scientifically, providing the conservation industry with individuals skilled in ecosystem management.
Mode of Delivery:
Presented through both online and distance learning modes.
Registration Information:
Eligible Applicants: New applicants and Unisa students who applied for a new qualification can register only if they have received and accepted an offer of placement from Unisa.
Re-registering Students: Can register for the academic year when the registration period opens.
Module Selection and Time Management:
Students need to pass a specific number of NQF level credits within a set time to graduate.
Adherence to co-requisite and pre-requisite modules is required.
A maximum of 60 credits per semester or 120 credits per academic year is allowed, excluding certain exceptions.
Recommended study time is 6-8 hours per week for semester modules and 4-6 hours per week for year modules.
