UL Residences/Accommodation – University Of Limpopo
At the University of Limpopo, we provide dedicated on-campus housing for students. To apply for a room, students must indicate their accommodation needs in the designated section of the academic application form for UL. Despite our best efforts, we are limited by the number of available spaces, which currently stands at approximately 6,500. For those who do not secure a spot within our residences or who prefer living off-campus, we recommend exploring our endorsed private, off-campus housing options that meet the University’s standards.
Our campus residences boast active house committees that are committed to addressing the residential needs and coordinating events for on-campus students. Recognizing the needs of non-residential students, the UL Student Representative Council (SRC) has established a day house to cater to their community and activities.
The Office of International Affairs extends its support to new international students by assisting them with on-campus accommodation, subject to availability. We strongly advise international students to approach the office on the first day of registration to maximize their chances of securing housing. The University also provides specialized accommodation for postgraduate students, though this is contingent upon space availability.
Important Note: Students are encouraged to apply for on-campus housing as part of their initial application due to limited availability. Returning students should stay informed via their Keyaka Email and campus notices regarding the annual online accommodation application for the subsequent academic year.
Residence Admission Procedure:
Access to the residences is strictly application-based. Only those students who have been academically accepted to UL will be considered for housing. We urge students to refrain from paying any accommodation fees until they have officially been granted a place in the residences and have received confirmation of their Residence Admission Status. Those admitted will receive a notification detailing the subsequent steps in the admission process.
Residence Application Procedure:
Students seeking on-campus housing must apply online via the University’s official website. Receipt of the application will be confirmed with a message; however, this does not equate to a residence admission. It’s critical to provide accurate contact details during the application process. Given the limited spaces, accommodation will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis to those who have applied.
Residence Registration Process:
Eligibility for residence room registration requires students to be financially cleared. The registration process will be conducted online, and successful applicants will receive a confirmation message along with instructions for key collection and move-in procedures.
Conference Accommodation Services:
The University also offers affordable accommodation options for conference attendees, utilizing student residences during the University recess periods in June/July and December, available upon request.
Facilities for Residents Include:
