University of Limpopo UL Admission Requirements
Applying to the University of Limpopo involves a straightforward process. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help prospective students navigate the application process:
Application Process
- Application Form:
- Online: Apply online at UL’s website.
- Download: Alternatively, download the application form from UL’s website.
- Application Fee:
- South African Students: R220.00
- International Students: R330.00
- Ensure the application form is accompanied by the application fee.
- Waiting Period:
- After submission, wait for about 4 weeks before checking your application status.
Application Deadline
- Closing Date: Applications close on 30 September for both South African and International students.
Admission Requirements
- National Senior Certificate (NSC) with Bachelor Exemption:
- Life Orientation with a minimum level of 3.
- English as a language of learning and teaching with a minimum level of 3.
- Specific subject requirements and levels of achievement as per each Faculty’s requirements.
- Matriculation Certificate (Prior 2008):
- Grade 12 Senior Certificate with full university exemption. Convert grade symbols to an Admission Point Score (APS).
- National Certificate (Vocational) NC(V) Level 4:
- Specific fundamental and vocational subject requirements for degree or diploma programmes.
- Admission Point Score (APS) System:
- Calculate your APS using NSC or Grade 12 results.
- Note: Life Orientation is not used in the APS calculation.

Placement Test
- UL conducts National Benchmark Tests for prospective students, the results of which are used for student profiling and support allocation.

- ECPs allow an additional year to achieve the outcomes of regular undergraduate degree programmes.
- Placement Test results are crucial for admission into ECPs.
