Walter Sisulu University WSU Registration Dates
Walter Sisulu University has received over 22,000 applications, mainly for first year programmes. We have 6,841 first year places across the various faculties and are expecting a total enrollment of around 24,000.
The University is currently involved in its selection and interview process which began on Monday – an exercise scheduled to be completed this coming Friday.
WSU is ready and prepared for registration. NSFAS has set aside close to R10 billion to provide funding for post-school students. It must be understood that many students will still be required to fund their own higher education.
Prospective students can check their application status online via the link they received by SMS from WSU admissions offices.
Once registration is complete, there may be gaps in certain programmes, particularly those requiring maths and science. We do consider late applications as there is often a shortage of qualified students in these areas.
Registration dates are as follows:
19 – 23 January (first time students)
26 – 6 February (returning students)
Lectures commence on 9 February.
WSU has 7 registration sites across our four campuses in Mthatha, Butterworth, Buffalo City and Queenstown.
