WBS WITS Career Management
Career Management at the WBS
The Coaching and Career Management Area arranges and oversees all career services including employer engagement, employability and career placement, career management workshops, career coaching and career strategy consulting, as well as the direction of the PDM full time Internship Programme.
WBS offers comprehensive career management services free of charge to the MBA, PDM and MM students currently registered at the school. These services include career management, workshops, career counselling where appropriate, career advisory and graduate recruitment opportunities including the annual WBS career fair.
Career Fair and Graduate Recruitment Programme
Graduate Recruitment is an on-going activity at the WBS facilitated by the WBS Careers and Coaching Area. It peaks from July to October in the Career Fair and the Graduate Recruitment Programme to which a large number of employers are invited to showcase their companies to the WBS students.
Graduate Recruitment Presentations are excellent opportunities for companies to share their brand and discuss their value proposition in an exclusive presentation forum which is usually followed by a cocktail party at which company representatives and students are able to network.
The annual Career Fair offers companies the opportunity to showcase their brands to WBS students and alumni. Generally held at an exclusive upmarket venue, the Fair is always guaranteed to draw an excellent response from our student and alumni groups. The date for the Fair will be advertised three months before the prospective date.
To enquire about the WBS Graduate Recruitment Programme, to advertise opportunities to MBA, PDM or MM students, or to participate in the Career Fair please contact Charisse Drobis on Charisse.drobis@wits.ac.za or on 011 717 3542.
Career Management Workshops
In the Career Management Workshop students have the opportunity to explore their career interests, career needs and work style preferences; gain an understanding of postgraduate employment trends and also learn how to brand and market themselves successfully by means of networks, CVs, covering letters and interviews. The dates and the venues for the students’ Career Management Workshops can be found in their respective timetables. Students will also be notified by email of the dates and venues for these workshops four weeks prior to the event.
Individual career consultations are available by appointment to all registered students who have attended the Career Management Workshop at the WBS. To make an appointment, please contact Charisse Drobis on Charisse.drobis@wits.ac.za or on 011 717 3542.
