Adult Grave
The adult grave is 2.3 meters in length and 0.9 meters wide, with a depth of 2 meters.
- Length – 2.3m
- Width – 0.9m
- Depth – 2.0m
Child’s Grave:
- Length – 1.5m, width – 0.7m, depth – 1.5m
- A child’s grave must measure 1 500 mm and 700 mm in width and 1 500 mm in depth.
Length – 1.5m, width – 0.7m, depth – 1.5m
It is an appropriate measure that a grave should be 1 ½ time the length of a person, which will provide space for mourners to gather around. The width should also be 1 ½ times the width of the coffin and the depth should also be 1 ½ times its height.
- Length—1.5m, width—0.7m, depth—1.5m
- So if you have a 2-metre-long coffin then your grave should be 3 metres long (1 x 2)
- If you have a 0.8-metre wide coffin, then your grave should be 1 metre wide (0.8 x 2)
- And if your coffin is 80 cm deep, then your grave needs to be 120 cm deep (80cm x 2).
