What Size Is 8 in South Africa

Online shoe shopping is one of life’s greatest pleasures. It’s so satisfying to scroll through different styles, pick your favorites, and imagine all the different outfit combinations.

But, before you can add your chosen fashion footwear to your cart, you must first confirm your shoe size. Choosing the right shoe when shopping online can be difficult. It’s not like shopping, where you can try on several sizes and choose between a 4 and a 4 and a half.

We’ve also included a South African size chart conversion table for EU and US sizes if you’re looking for an EU size 38 shoe in South Africa and aren’t sure how to convert the size into a SA shoe size.

South African Shoe Sizes in the United Kingdom

When comparing South African shoe sizes to those of the United Kingdom, you shouldn’t be too concerned. To make things easier for shoe lovers, South Africa employs the same sizing system as the United Kingdom. While this does not help with US and EU sizes, it does remove one conversion from your list.

For shoe sizes, the UK and SA systems use lower numbers. Children’s sizes 0 to 14 are available in the UK. The sizing system also includes adult shoe sizes ranging from 0 to 15. The actual shoe size range available is determined by both the manufacturer and the style.

Euro Shoe Size Conversion to SA

The EU shoe sizing system employs double-digit numbers, ranging from size 15 (for babies) to size 50. (for really tall humans). The EU system, like the UK and US systems, operates on half sizes. However, a conversion table can make it much easier to find the right US/SA shoes.

SA Shoe Size to US Shoe Size

The shoe sizing system in the United States is similar to that of the United Kingdom and South Africa. It has separate numbers for children and adults and uses lower numbers. Unfortunately, the similarities end there.

US shoe sizes are generally one to two numbers larger than South African shoe sizes. A ladies size 8 in South Africa, for example, corresponds to a US size 9.

Shoe Size Chart Women

The conversion of women’s sizes between the US, EU, and UK/SA may appear daunting at first. However, when it comes to women’s shoes, US sizes are typically two and a half sizes larger than South African sizes. In South Africa, for example, a UK size 6 corresponds to a US size 8.5.
