The effect of the lockout on happiness is inferred causally using a difference-in-difference technique, and the factors influencing satisfaction after lockdown are examined using an OLS estimator.
The findings indicate that the lockdown significantly and negatively impacted happiness. Stay-at-home orders benefitted joy during this time, according to our analysis of the factors that determine contentment after a lockdown.

But as the Pandemic spread, they grew more alarmed, and this relationship shifted and turned out to be detrimental, with people’s enjoyment declining as the number of new fatalities rose.
