Based on E. L. James’s 2012 book of the same name, Fifty Shades Freed is a 2018 American erotic romantic drama film that was directed by James Foley and written by Niall Leonard. Following Fifty Shades of Grey (2015) and Fifty Shades Darker (2016), it is the third and final film in the Fifty Shades of Grey series. As Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, respectively, Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan are portrayed in the movie, which follows the couple as they get married and deal with Eric Johnson, Ana’s former boss, who starts stalking them.
Principal photography on Darker and Fifty Shades Freed started in February 2016 in Vancouver and Paris, respectively. On February 9, 2018, the movie had a limited IMAX release in the United States. With a $55 million production budget, it exceeded $370 million in worldwide box office revenue. It has the lowest box office performance of the trilogy. The acting and screenplay of Fifty Shades Freed, like those of its two predecessors, were criticized.
