Ballito is an affluent town in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa with a population of about 40,000. It is about 40 km north of the capital city of Durban and is primarily a coastal resort town.
It forms part of the KwaDukuza Local Municipality and iLembe District Municipality.
North Coast locals often refer to this stretch of coastline as the Dolphin Coast, since it’s a hotspot for dolphin sightings.
Today Ballito has gotten its own identity and ties with other communities. It has elementary schools, high schools, and even a daycare centre that are accessible from this neighbourhood of beach land.
Ballito is growing quickly and has two shopping malls (Lifestyle centre & The Junction)
There are many family-friendly attractions in the local area with the fantastic “Fantastic Family Adventure” theme park being one of them. The park includes a crocodile farm, microlight flights, and tours.
It is a blended holiday destination with hotels and self-catering accommodations, swimming beaches (Willard) and surfing beaches (Boulder).
Ballito has a large commercial business park, known as Ballito Business Park and the N2 freeway borders it.
