Where exactly can you find Parys, South Africa? You’re not going to find it on the map of many countries around the world because it’s one of those small towns that are kind of off the radar in terms of population and economic output. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t some unique things about this South African city, though, as you’ll see below.

In the Eastern Cape

The town of Parys is situated in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. It is situated at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains, just north of the Bokkeveld Escarpment. The town is very quiet, as it has a population of only 8,000 people and there are no industries to speak of. The region around Parys is mostly a rural farming community.

The History of Parys

Parys is a small town located just outside of Bloemfontein. The town was created as an out-of-town residential suburb of Bloemfontein and it has a history that stretches back to the late 1800s.

What There Is To See And Do In This Small Town

The town is small, but it has a lot to offer. The highlight of the town is Parys Museum, which houses an impressive collection of arts and crafts from all over Southern Africa. There are also plenty of beautiful gardens to wander through and enjoy the scenery. If you’re looking for some light entertainment, there’s also a jazz club that hosts local musicians on Friday nights and Saturdays.
