Can UIF claims be done online?
uFiling is a secure Online system introduced to Employers to register, declare and pay UIF contributions. Employees can also use the system to apply for benefits such as unemployment, maternity and illness.
What is needed when claiming UIF online?
Your valid 13 Digit South African ID number. Your e-mail address where all correspondence will be emailed. Cell phone number mandatory.
How do I submit my UIF online?
This application type contains 5 steps:
- Accept the Terms and Conditions.
- Confirm your Banking Details.
- Verify / complete your Personal Details and update any changes.
- Enter your Occupation and Qualification.
- Confirm that you are a Work Seeker.
How long does online UIF claim take?
The assessor has been allocated your application and if your application is found to be complete it will be assessed within the prescribed Turnaround times ( 15 days for unemployment claims, 5 days for maternity claims).
What happens after applying for UIF online?
You will be given a white card. This card will be signed each time you sign the register. If all your information is correct, you should start receiving money from the UIF within eight weeks of registering for unemployment benefits. You may visit the labour centre if you have not received your money after eight weeks.
