UCT Postgraduate Admission Requirements
For postgraduate studies in the Health Sciences and Humanities faculties at the University of Cape Town (UCT), the admission requirements vary depending on the level of study:
Health Sciences
- Postgraduate Diplomas:
- Requires an approved Bachelor’s degree with appropriate subjects or equivalent qualifications.
- Some programs may have additional specific requirements.
- Honours:
- A Bachelor’s degree with specific major subjects is the minimum requirement.
- Some programs may have additional specific requirements.
- Master’s:
- An Honours degree in the relevant discipline is the minimum requirement.
- Applicants for research Master’s degrees must submit a research proposal.

- Doctorates:

Humanities
- Honours Degree:

- Completion within 1 or 2 years from the date of registration.
