Canon Collins Thekgo Bursaries

The Canon Collins Thekgo Fund was initiated by professionals to promote access to higher education. This bursary scheme covers the initial registration fee for eligible applicants, enabling them to enroll in tertiary institutions. The program also assists students in accessing alternative funding support.

The bursary aims to help students who cannot access their academic records or degree certificates due to unpaid university debts after completing undergraduate or honors studies. This addresses the issue in South Africa where outstanding debts lead to academic records being withheld, preventing students from employment or further education opportunities.

The bursary offers R10,000 to eligible applicants who completed undergraduate/honors studies in the following fields at institutions in Limpopo, Northern Cape, and Eastern Cape provinces:

  • Media Studies
  • Languages and Literature
  • Gender Studies
  • Arts (Drama, Performance Studies, Digital Arts, Visual Arts, Fine Arts, Film and Television Studies, History of Art, Music, etc.)
  • Education
