AECOM offers a bursary program to support students pursuing studies in the engineering and built environment fields.
About the Bursary Program
AECOM will award bursaries for studies in the following fields:
- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Quantity Surveying
- Architecture
- Project Management
- Science
The bursary covers tuition fees and prescribed books, as well as practical training per university requirements during winter and/or summer vacations.
Bursary Renewability, Service Contract, and Selection
Bursaries are awarded for one year at a time and are renewable annually based on academic performance. Students must maintain a minimum average of 65%. After graduation, bursary recipients are required to work at AECOM, with one year of full-time employment required for each year of funding received.
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted, and the final selection will take place by 30 November 2025-2026. Applicants not receiving feedback should consider their application unsuccessful.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet these minimum criteria:
- South African citizenship
- Currently in Matric or completed Matric
- Full-time study in one of the specified fields
- Studying at a recognized South African tertiary institution
- Minimum of 70% for Mathematics in Matric
- Minimum of 70% for Science in Matric
- Minimum overall average of 65% in the first year of tertiary studies
- Highly motivated
- Intention to pursue a career within the built environment sector
- No prior working experience required
