About AISCT High School:
The American International School of Cape Town (AISCT) is a not-for-profit, private co-educational institution founded in 1997. With a commitment to empowering students with integrity, respect, and responsibility, AISCT has provided education to students from more than 50 countries. The school’s mission is to offer a culturally diverse and academically rich experience, providing excellent educational infrastructure and support for future studies. AISCT follows the USA curriculum, offers College Board Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and follows the northern hemisphere calendar with the school year beginning in August and ending in June.
AISCT High School Scholarship 2024-2025:
AISCT High School is offering scholarships to students entering grades 9 or 10 who wish to pursue the prestigious Advanced Placement (AP) course of study. This scholarship program is designed to support outstanding students from disadvantaged backgrounds, allowing them to complete the American High School Diploma at AISCT.
The scholarship covers various expenses, including admission fees, AP fees, capital fees, MacBook, SAT fees, tuition fees, and application fees for up to six universities. However, it does not cover costs such as stationery, meals, accommodation, transportation, school uniform, and PE uniform.
The scholarship is provided for the entire duration of the student’s time at AISCT, contingent on maintaining impressive academic results and behavior. It may be revoked for poor academic performance and behavior.
Candidates will be shortlisted based on merit and financial need. The AISCT committee will screen applicants, and they will be required to complete an admission assessment on campus. Successful candidates will be awarded the scholarship by the end of 2024-2025.
Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the AISCT scholarship in 2024-2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen born between 1 August 2005 and 31 July 2008.
- Should have completed Grade 8 and be entering Grade 9 or Grade 10 in 2024-2025.
- Must be a resident of Cape Town or able to reside in Cape Town during the scholarship years.
- Must be fluent in both written and spoken English and have impressive academic results in the English language curriculum.
- Must demonstrate financial need.
- Must belong to a disenfranchised population group that was discriminated against during the Apartheid regime.
- Must possess strong leadership qualities and a commitment to service.
- Must adhere to the rules and regulations stated in the AISCT Parent-Student Handbook.

Documents Required:
Applicants need to submit the following mandatory documents along with their application:
- Photograph (including head and shoulders)
- Report cards/transcripts of four years of academic records
- Student’s referral form from the main school
- An updated copy of the immunization record
- A detailed essay elaborating on personality, personal hobbies, aspirations, or any other unusual encounters they have experienced as an introduction to the committee
- A resume including extracurricular activities, jobs held, and special study projects/activities completed by the candidate in the past two years through their community, school, or personal pursuits.
Closing Date:
The closing date for AISCT High School Scholarship 2024-2025 applications is 28 October. Applicants must apply before the specified date.
