Can I Check My Uif in South Africa

Employers can use uFiling, a secure online system, to register, declare, and pay UIF contributions. Employees can also use the system to apply for unemployment, maternity, and illness benefits.

How can I find out if I’m registered for UIF?

To check online, go to:

Visit www.ufiling.co.za.

Register by clicking here.

Follow the instructions they send you, depending on whether you chose email or SMS.

Respond to the UIF verification questions. These are to ensure that you are who you claim to be.

Fill in the personal information requested.

Log in to the UIF website with the credentials you just created.

When your profile is complete, go to the ‘Employment’ tab and select ‘View My UIF Contributions.’

Select ‘Get Declarations’ from the drop-down menu. This will bring up a new screen with a long list of months. It will not display the exact amount contributed. Under each month, information about your pay for that month should be listed in green. This means that your employer is covering your UIF deductions. If the information is grey, it means that it is still pending and you will need to wait and return later for confirmation. If it says ‘No Information’ in red under the month, it means your employer did not contribute to your UIF for that month.

You can also go to your local Labour Department office. The clerk should request your ID number as well as your UIF registration number. If you don’t know your UIF number, you can get help here. They will be able to determine whether you are registered for UIF and whether or not your employer has been paying over your contributions.

If you discover that your employer has not registered you with the UIF, you must notify the Department of Labour. You do not have to do this in person; you can contact them via their website or by phone at 080 003 0007.
