The Cape Agulhas Municipality, Africa’s southernmost municipality situated in the Overberg District, is inviting deserving students to apply for their bursary programme. This initiative, undertaken in collaboration with the Provincial Treasury, is open to students residing within the Cape Agulhas municipal area.

The bursary programme supports studies in the following fields:
- Accounting
- Economics
- Finance
- Infrastructure
- Internal Audit
- Risk Management
- Supply Chain Management
About the Bursary
The bursary will be awarded to students with the lowest combined monthly income and covers one academic year. Note that the bursary cannot be used to pay for existing loans or debts.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the bursary, applicants must:
- Be South African citizens
- Reside within the Cape Agulhas Municipal area, in the Western Cape Province
- Be between 18 and 25 years old
- Have completed Matric/ Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Be studying or intend on studying towards a qualification in one of the listed fields of study.
- Be studying or registered to study at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
- Have a strong academic record
- Have a genuine interest in uplifting and changing the community for the better
- Have proven financial need and be unable to afford to fund their studies
- Students from disadvantaged groups and students with disabilities are particularly encouraged to apply
How to Apply
Application forms can be downloaded from the Cape Agulhas Municipality website. Completed applications, along with all required documents, can be submitted via post or hand-delivered to specified addresses.
Essential supporting documents include a certified copy of ID, Matric certificate (if completed), latest academic progress report (if currently studying), proof of application/ admission from your tertiary institution, a motivational letter, ID and proof of income of parents or guardians, and proof of residence in the Cape Agulhas municipal area.
The deadline for applications is 10th February, 15:00.
