About CHS Developments
CHS Developments is a broad-based BEE (black economic empowered) infrastructure development company established in 1997. The company provides a comprehensive infrastructure solution to its clients, including design, development, planning, implementation, construction, project management, project liaison facilitating, sales administration, and training.
CHS Developments primarily focuses on two areas of service delivery: Construction and Consultancy. Their consultancy services encompass Training, Project Management, Sales and Administration, Implementing Agents, Community and Project Facilitation.
About the CHS Developments Bursary Program
CHS Developments offers bursaries to students pursuing qualifications in the Building Environment industry. The bursaries are available for National Diploma (ND) or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) studies in the following fields:
- Construction Management
- Civil Engineering
- Quantity Surveying
The bursary covers the following expenses:
- Registration fees
- Tuition fees
- Prescribed textbooks
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to qualify for the CHS Developments Bursary:
- South African citizenship
- Currently in Matric or have completed Matric
- Studying or intending to study full-time toward a qualification in one of the specified fields
- Studying or accepted to study at an accredited tertiary institution in South Africa (preferably in KwaZulu-Natal)
- Willing to work within the company during holidays and after completing studies
Preference will be given to students who are underprivileged, come from disadvantaged backgrounds, have disabilities, and fall within the 16 to 25-year age group.
How to Apply
To apply for the CHS Developments Bursary, follow these steps:
- Download and complete the CHS Developments Bursary Application Form (PDF).
- Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your completed application form:
- ID document or birth certificate (certified copy)
- Matric certificate (certified copy)
- Mid-year results if currently in Matric (certified copy)
- Acceptance letter to study at a recognized tertiary institution
- Latest results if currently studying at the tertiary level (on tertiary letterhead)
- Proof of any formal qualifications (certified copy)
- Proof of studying or intending to study full-time toward a Construction Management qualification
- Parents/guardians proof of income (latest payslips if employed, death certificate if deceased – certified copy, social worker letter if orphaned)
- Proof of disability if disabled (from a registered hospital or doctor)
- Proof of residential address

Please Note:
- Current Matric students should submit their final end-of-year results as soon as possible.
- Current first-year tertiary students should submit their final end-of-year results as soon as possible.
Closing Date
The closing date for CHS Developments Bursary applications is 12 January annually. Ensure that your application is submitted before this date, as late applications will not be accepted.
