Program Composition (Subjects):

The program is structured in levels from N1 to N6. Subjects include Electrical Trade Theory, Industrial Electronics, Engineering Science, Mathematics, and Electrotechnics. Choice subjects like Engineering Physics and Fault Finding & Protective Devices are also part of the curriculum.

Admission Requirements:

  • N1: Grade 10 Certificate with a pass in Mathematics and Physical Science
  • N2: N1 level completion or equivalent
  • N3: N2 level completion or Technical Grade 12
  • N4: N3 level completion or Grade 12 Certificate with a pass in Mathematics and Physical Science
  • N5: N4 level completion
  • N6: N5 level completion

Duration:

  • Each level (N1 to N6) has a duration of three months.
  • The program follows a trimester timetable, allowing students to complete three levels in one year.

Qualifications:

  • After successfully completing the N6 level and 24 months of relevant in-service training, students can apply for the National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

Assessment:

  • A minimum of 40% per subject is required to pass.
  • Assessments include regular class tests and practical testing.
  • National external examinations are conducted at the end of each trimester.

Trimester Fees:

  • Registration Fee: R 500 (non-refundable)
  • Study Guides, Examination & Assessment Fee (for 3 months): R 900
  • Monthly Tuition Fee (for 3 months): R 399
  • Total Fees Per N-Level (for 3 months): R 2,597

These fees cover study guides, assignments, assessments, and examination fees. They do not include practical sessions and prescribed textbooks. This program provides a solid foundation in electrical engineering, preparing students for various technical and professional roles in the industry.
