ERM, or Environmental Resources Management, was established in 1971 and began trading as “ERL” in the United Kingdom. Today, ERM is a leading international provider of health, risk, safety, environmental, sustainability, and social consulting services. They assist both global industrial and non-industrial clients in improving their environmental, organizational, and business performance. ERM provides services to various industries, including Mining & Metals, Oil & Gas, Chemical, Power, Manufacturing & Pharmaceutical, and Technology, Media & Telecommunications.
ERM operates in more than 40 countries and territories, employing over 5,000 staff members across its 160+ offices.
ERM Bursary Program:
ERM is offering bursaries for the 2025-2026 academic year to support postgraduate studies in various fields. These fields include but are not limited to Earth Science, Natural Sciences, Engineering, Economics, and Social Sciences.
Applicants are required to submit an essay on one of the following essay topics, which have been selected by departments within ERM. Topics include areas such as Corporate Sustainability & Climate Change, Liability Portfolio Management and Remediation, and Capital Project Delivery, among others.
Eligibility Criteria for the ERM Bursary:
To be eligible for the ERM Bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must have completed a relevant undergraduate qualification.
- Must be currently unemployed.
- Must intend to pursue postgraduate studies.
- Must intend to study at a recognized university in South Africa.
How to Apply for the ERM Bursary:
To apply for the ERM Bursary, eligible candidates must complete an online application via the ERM Bursary Application Portal for 2025-2026. When completing the online application, include “Uni24.co.za” in the field asking how you heard about the ERM bursary.
Applicants should also upload clear copies of the following required supporting documents in PDF format:
- ID document (certified copy)
- Most recent academic transcript (certified copy)
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Essay on one of the specified topics (maximum of 3,000 words) with the Plagiarism Declaration included on the cover page.
Closing Date for the ERM Bursary:
The closing date for ERM Bursary applications for the 2025-2026 academic year is 6 January 2025-2026. Applicants are advised to submit their applications before this date to ensure consideration.
