About the FAME Academy SA:
Established in 2017, the FAME Academy SA is a pioneering institution in the Limpopo province, marking the first School of Creative Arts of its kind in South Africa. The academy offers accredited higher education courses and has plans to expand its presence to all major cities in South Africa, including Cape Town, Johannesburg, Bloemfontein, Port Elizabeth, Durban, and more.
About the Bursary Programmes – Fields Covered & Coverage Value:
The FAME Academy SA is offering the following bursaries for 2024-2025:
For Children (Ages 4-16):
- Performing Arts bursaries, including Acting, Drama, Dance, Singing, Theatre, Choreography, Instrument Specialist, Modelling, and Deejaying.
For Adults (Ages 18-35):
- Performing Arts bursaries, including Acting, Drama, Dance, Singing, Theatre, Choreography, Instrument Specialist, Modelling, and Deejaying.
- Fashion Design bursaries.
- TV Production and Presenting bursaries.
- Radio Production and Presenting bursaries.
All bursaries are for one year of full-time studies, except for Radio and TV Production, which covers 18 months of studies. The value of each bursary is R37,000.
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following minimum entry criteria before applying:
- Proficiency in any of the 11 official South African languages.
- Possession of a Matric certificate.
- Age criteria:
- For Performing Arts children bursary: between 4 and 16 years old.
- For Performing Arts adults bursary, Fashion Design bursary, TV Production bursary, Radio Production bursary: between 18 and 35 years old.
- Intention to commence studies at FAME Academy SA in 2024-2025.

How to Apply for the Bursary:
To apply, applicants must create a short video showcasing their talent related to their course of interest. Follow these steps:
- Start the video by stating your name, age, and place of origin.
- The video must not exceed 1 minute in length.
- Upload the video to social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter).
- Use the following two hashtags when posting your video: #fameacademysabursaryauditions and #creatingtomorrowslegends.
- Tag the FAME Academy SA social media pages (Facebook: FAMEAcademyZA, Instagram: fameacademysa, Twitter: FAMEAcademySA1).
- Encourage your friends and family to SHARE your video.
Applicants may showcase their talent by singing their favorite song or imitating their favorite artist (singer, actor, model, dancer, deejay, etc).
Please note that auditions are conducted online only; do not email your applications as they will not be accepted. The FAME Academy SA team will review all videos, and winners will be announced on social media on September 23.
Closing Date:
The closing date for applications is September 20, at midnight. Please ensure you apply before the closing date to be considered.
