South African Education and Training Requirements for Flight Attendants

The BLS states that a high school diploma is the minimum education requirement for flight attendants. Some airlines favor candidates with college degrees.

A prospective flight attendant’s résumé would benefit from a degree in communications, hospitality, or public relations.

New hires are trained by airlines. First aid, airplane evacuation, and using the emergency gear are all covered in the corporate training. Practice flights are part of the flight attendant training program.
