There are two methods for hiding your caller ID. The first method I’ll show you is the simplest and quickest. Whatever your motivation for concealing your caller ID, everyone deserves privacy at some time. Let’s get right to it.
Simply dial #31#, then enter the cell number you want to contact, and then hit the dial button on your phone. That’s all there is to it; your phone number has been hidden. [#31# ‘number’ followed by dial button]
The second is for persons who wish to (I believe) keep their phone numbers confidential for a long time, because you won’t have to keep pushing #31# every time you dial a number with this one. I’m not sure why someone would want to hide their phone numbers for “ever,” but if you want, here’s how.
On most phones, go to’menu,”settings,’ ‘call settings,’ ‘caller ID,’ and then ‘private/hide’ or something similar. Done! Remember that if you want your phone number to be visible, you must disable private number. Disabling is similar to enabling, except that instead of ‘hide,’ you select’show,’ or something similar.
I tested a couple phones that were slightly different from the ones listed above:
HTC Touch Diamond 2 – Dial > menu (not the Windows logo button) > settings > caller ID > no one Your phone number is hidden.
Samsung Galaxy Star – Go to the menu, then settings, then call > all calls, then show my number, then conceal. Done.
In South Africa how can I call without my phone number showing?
Enter *67. Enter the phone number you want to call (including area code). Call should be tapped. Instead of your phone number, the words “Private,” “Anonymous,” or another signal will show on the recipient’s phone.
Is it * 67 or * 69 to conceal your phone number?
*67 – Caller ID Block: Disables your phone number from appearing on Caller ID systems. *69 – Call Return: Redials the last number to which you were connected. *70 – Call Waiting: Holds your call while you answer another.
