How to Start an Old Age Home in South Africa
An elderly housing complex with multiple residences is known as a retirement home. It is also referred to as an old people’s home or old age home, though old people’s home can also refer to a nursing home. Each individual or couple living in the house often has a room or suite of rooms that is a la carte.
In regards to registering an institution for the elderly, you must submit an application at the closest Department of Social Development office if you want to register an elderly care facility or nursing home as an individual or organization.

The Department of Social Development will receive a report of the findings following the role-player assessment visit, at which point your application will either be granted, authorized with conditions, or not approved.
Within 90 days of being informed of the judgment, you must file an appeal with the Minister of Social Development.

Your application may be processed in four weeks.
What does it cost?
