Northern Cape Government Bursary 2025-2026:
The Northern Cape Government is offering bursaries for the year 2025-2026 to assist financially disadvantaged students from the Northern Cape Province in pursuing their higher education goals. These bursaries are available for students pursuing studies in a wide range of fields, including:
- Bachelors Education – FET: Afrikaans, Xhosa, and Setswana
- Bachelors Education – Intermediate: Mathematics, Science, and Accounting
- Digital Marketing
- Electrical Diagrams/ Schematics
- Engineering
- Environmental Quality Management
- Health and Safety
- Health Sciences
- Hydrogen Fuel Technician
- Hydrogen Fuel Transporter
- Hydrogen Production Engineers

- Landfill Gas Collection Technician
- Mining Minerals and Energy

It’s important to note that the bursary will not cover outstanding expenses from previous or current years of study.
Bursary Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for the Northern Cape Government Bursary, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Reside in the Northern Cape Province.
- Fall within the age range of 18-35 years.
- Not be employed.
- Be in Matric or have completed Matric.
- Intend to study full-time in one of the specified fields.
- Be enrolled or willing to register at a recognized and accredited institution in South Africa.
- Demonstrate strong academic performance and financial need.
- Have achieved a minimum average of 55% in the current/latest qualification.
How to Apply:
To apply for the bursary, students should complete the Northern Cape Provincial Bursary Application Form 2025-2026 (PDF). When filling out the application form, please ensure the following:
- Accurate and complete information is provided.
- Use black ink to fill in the details.
- All required documents are attached.
Documents Required:
Applicants should attach the following documents to their application form. Failure to include any of these documents may result in the application not being considered:
- Certified copy of ID document.
- Latest Matric results if currently in Matric.
- Certified copy of the Matric Certificate for those who have completed Matric.
- Latest academic records/results.
- Certified copy of registration/acceptance at an accredited tertiary institution.
- Certified proof of identity for parents, guardian, spouse, or co-debtor.
- Proof of household income for parents, guardian, spouse, or co-debtor:
- If employed, provide proof from the Department of Labor.
- Official SASSA document if in receipt of a child grant.
- If self-employed, submit a copy of the latest financial statement and tax assessment.
- If deceased, submit a Death Certificate.
- Marriage certificate (if married) or divorce certificate (if divorced).
- Confirmation from the school principal or affidavit (for single parents).
- Affidavit from the legal guardian (if under the supervision of a legal guardian).
- Legal document (if orphaned or fostered).
